For the first time ever, the state will subsidize half the cost of your liquor license, up to $100,000. The program is called the Small Business Liquor License Support Grant, and it only covers the acquisition of an INACTIVE license. Since NJ has a fixed number of liquor licenses, this grant is intended to get 900 or so inactive licences back on the market.
There’s what appears to be an inactive license in Lyndhurst that’s been on sale since before this program was announced, and the price doesn’t reflect this added value. It’s on sale for $115,000; given how long it’s been on the market, I would think the seller might be flexible on price.
It’s a 32C license, the one you want since you can use it to open a bar, restaurant, and/or liquor store in Lyndhurst.
